Since its founding in 1998, DLC rejects the concept of “ready-to-wear” that has always existed in eLearning. When the first CBE (Computer Based Education) courses began to emerge in the late 1990s, later called eLearning, the author tools started to emerge, in a more or less automated way, producing courses quite similar to each other, without paying attention to the more than 100 years of research in Pedagogy and Psychology, nor even to the most basic standards of interactivity and multimedia. This is why the DLC “factory” only produced “handmade” courses, having four teams of specialists: pedagogues, web designers, multimedia technicians and programmers.

Since our first hour that DLC rejects the automated production processes, that’s why DLC never acceded to the author’s tools, nor standardized principles like SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model), as all the investigations made by DLC in collaboration with several universities had shown that treating the same way what is not equal (for example a course of Medicine and another one of Butchers) it would be the way to a learning process without scientific grounding and therefore with appalling results – both qualitative and quantitative. The 19 years of use and application of SAFEM-D (Open Distance Multimedia Training and Learning System) the pedagogical model of DLC, have always evidenced that this learning methodology has been superior of competition, and ultimately has proven that this path, as well as being effective, has high efficiency.

The DLC courses are “handmade” such as Haute Couture, where video technology is drawn and “tailored” according to its roleplay or exposure to cases, problems and games, to contextualize the learner, in tandem to an integration with the expository, demonstrative and interrogative methods, supported by sound, voice, color and movement, in order to stimulate the senses and bringing the information to the student’s brain, bolstered by interactive written, but also inquiring information, which is then backed up by simulators, capable of transforming knowledge into competence; in short, an integrated and global learning process that only ends with the validation of knowledge in a continuous, formative and summative diagnostic evaluation system.

DLC is the oldest Portuguese eLearning company that, throughout 19 years, has conducted tailor-made courses for customer needs in various sectors as health, automotive technology, sports, retail, financial sector, education, catering and languages, just to mention the main domains of DLC’s conception of training products. Thus, DLC transforms any classroom course into an eLearning or bLearning one, extending its use to mLearning (tablets and smartphones), but also elaborates “turnkey” actions, i.e., courses built from scratch customized to each client, which may or may not include the production of the contents. In short, DLC accepts any challenge for the elaboration of learning products through online means, integrated or not with classroom classes, in any field, guaranteeing a ROI (Return of Investment) of more than 1000% and an efficiency in results in average higher than 85%, with fail rates below half percent.
